Access to cultural participation should be a right. Aware of this, FITEI is determined to make its program and services more accessible to match and respect the diversity of its public. Through a series of measures and conditions that are gradually being implemented, the festival aims to promote physical, social and intellectual access and provide an inclusive experience to all people looking to consume culture.

This year's FITEI 47 will showcase performances with Portuguese, Spanish, and English subtitles, as well as interpretation in Portuguese sign language, subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, audio description, and post-show discussions.

Physical Access
All the venues hosting the festival are adapted for people with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users, apart from Casa Marta Ortigão Sampaio and Guindalense FC. It should be noted that mala voadora is an adapted space, however access from the public road makes independent entry difficult. The FITEI team will be on hand at this location to provide any necessary assistance.

FITEI Aberto
FITEI has a section dedicated to parallel activities – FITEI Aberto – which has a set of entirely free initiatives open to the public.

FITEI Safe Space
The festival wants to guarantee the well-being of all its audience so that they can freely enjoy the best that culture has to offer. To this end, FITEI created a completely safe space for communicating discriminatory nature situations. Therefore, if you have experienced any of these situations during the festival in the theatres that welcome the event, do not hesitate to contact us at acessibilidade@fitei.com.
